Born in Kansas, Carolyn studied at Grinnell College in Iowa, emphasizing painting, drawing and printmaking. At Washington University in St. Louis, she intensified her focus on printmaking. Over time, Carolyn expanded her art practice to include 2D digital works and videos. This ultimately led her to create 3D digital images and turning them into physical sculptures. Her prints, videos and sculpture have been shown in galleries in Pietrasanta Italy, Pittsburgh, New York and Minneapolis. Carolyn has exhibited at Carnegie Museum of Art and Westmoreland Museum of American Art where she was awarded the 2019/2020 Irving and Aaronel deRoy Gruber Foundation Award.

Carolyn is represented by The Artling.
